April 2025’s theme was Art of Ephemera.
Ephemera is ususally defined as something that is ‘transitory’, ‘fleeting’ or ‘short-lived’. When selecting this theme I wanted to ensure the classic novel and the parcel contents reflected this concept.
The classic novel for April 2025 is ‘Seven Little Australians’ by Ethel Turner. This novel represents the fleeting euphoria of childhood and the adventures between seven siblings and their parents set predominately in Sydney.
I thought this novel perfectly captured what ephemera means to me - something that was short and sweet and can’t be returned to.
